Are surface piercings (microdermal) as scary as it sounds?

I’ve been wanting to get a surface piercing, because I think they’re pretty cool, and I’m running out of “normal” things to actually pierce, haha. I do have a pretty high pain tolerance, and I’m not squeamish or anything, but just the thought of someone slicing a slit in your skin and shoving jewelry in there sounds a little scary. I’m still down to get it done, but curious about other people’s experiences with them.
You know what don’t be scared ok, my boyfriend and I both got it done, and it depends on wear you want to get it done. I got it on my hip and he got it on his neck, they do look pretty sick, but just be sure to have your high pain tolerance ready cause it does hurt for about 2 to 3 days
your welcome for all my help

it all depends on the piercers technique. i have 3 on my chest and all were done with a dermal punch. its a tool that instead of slicing the skin it creates a hollow pocking. think of it like coring an apple. then the jewelery just hooks under the skin. i felt very little pain but did have a bit of blood. if you have any cartilage piercings then you will be fine. they hurt alot more then dermals.
they are well worth it in the end!!
No, they don’t hurt so much, I have my hips done…Its just that your body will reject the piercing after a certain amount of time, leaving scars. Youre a beautiful girl, just make sure you really want it =)
A really good Body Jewelry site..I buy all of my stuff from them.
http://www.myspace.com/harlequinjewelry They accept cash, and most of the gauges are like $2 each. You should deff check them out, the transactions are easy, and the quality of their products is really good.
Good Luck!
